University Operators
The University Operators provide information and directory
assistance on the University's main number 392-3261, from 7 AM to 7
PM Monday through Friday and 8 AM to 4 PM on Saturdays. The
operators
process incoming calls by forwarding the calls to UF staff, faculty and
students or providing the caller with the direct number. The 5
operators and the operator supervisor also monitor the emergency
elevator phones. They contact the appropriate maintenance personnel
when people in UF elevators need assistance. They also monitor the
sewage and storm water lift stations alarm system and contact PPD
utility personnel when there is trouble. After-hours monitoring of
elevator and emergency alarms is provided by UPD. The University
Operators also maintain the emergency/disaster control center for the
campus.
